Sunny day, sweepin' the clouds away

Oh my.  Wasn't it a glorious day today?  It was absolutely perfect autumn weather.  Sunny and bright with a hint of chill and cardigans.

Whilst I was admiring the clear blue skies this morning, M was receiving a delivery to his work of a present he'd bought me (unbeknown to me). 

For absolutely ages I have wanted a cage umbrella.  You know the ones that encase your head and half way down your back in pvc goodness?  That sounds perverse but actually it's not.  Unless you get off on sheltering from the rain.  I have no idea why I've had this obsession, I think it's just because they look so pretty.

Anyway, I was looking at Claire's marvellous French for Cupcake blog and spotted this amazingly gorgeous Lulu Guiness number.  It was love at first sight. 

I made a note to myself to buy it when I was next online, whilst hollering about how lush it was and how much I love it, naturally.  Well, before I'd even blinked M had gone and ordered it for me, hoorah!

I've tried it out this evening - outside of course and it really is one of the easiest umbrellas I've used - it doesn't have one of those horrible metal things you push in that catches your hand, it just slides up (oo-err). 

I am most chuffed.  I am also very tired but promise to blog about something with more substance later this week.
