M is currently making crumpets.
They've never been a big favourite of mine because oddly, I like cold toast and crumpets turn chewy when they're cold.
He's very excited although he has just shouted through to the lounge "I don't think Mr Warburton will be losing any sleep tonight" and also "are crumpets supposed to be black?" so I'm a little concerned as to the outcome.
I'm finding it increasingly difficult to write this because of the acrid smoke that is seeping in from the kitchen. I hadn't expected crumpets to be my last supper. Ooo I've just been handed some. Verdict: Nice. Except for the black bottoms. Good first attempt, 3 stars.

Finally found
When we were first going out and M and I had 300 miles between us, he sent me the above picture. It's him all over really, very thoughtful and lovely. He told me that he'd walked passed it numerous times before but never really saw the true meaning until we found each other *passes sick buckets to people as necessary*.
Fast forward a little bit (20 months ish) and in October last year we got engaged. It was completely unexpected and not something that we had planned but it just happened. I have never ever been someone that needed a ring to feel special, I didn't understand the whole getting engaged thing, how on earth could that make you feel more secure than before the ring. It didn't sink in for a few days after it happened and I still didn't really understand at first!
I think modern life denotes that most people live together and make their lives 'one' before even considering marriage or at least, that's how previous relationships have gone.
But I can safely say, I'm really enjoying myself and I have been very old fashioned about it all. I love having a ring on my finger (it helps that it is the most sparkly immense ring I've ever seen). I love people admiring it and it's such a nice feeling that someone wants to spend the rest of their lives with you, whatever direction you go in.
There are no plans afoot for any lavish weddings, big gowns or 17 tier cakes. In fact, there are no marriage plans at all. We're just enjoying being together at the moment.

Ass Ponys
Musical note: Roxy Music - More than this. Find it and listen to it now!
So here I am again, promising the world, delivering a small section of dirt in Scunthorpe.
I have had a busy week and it has zapped me I tell thee. Work hasn't given me anything of interest, the usual nutters and complaints with a dusting of nice old lady behaviour.
I started college again on Thursday, it was really great to be back. I love my tutor she's really funny and a bit quirky. Gave myself some writing targets and we did some character building. Character building like using objects to think about who owns them, what their lives are like etc etc not hugging each other and telling ourselves we rock.
This weekend I'm having my hair done - well M is too, but he just goes for the usual. I'm going back to a sensible colour because I'm going to try and get another job and I don't want to freak them out in the first sitting. Although, that's probably difficult in itself because they might suss me when I open my mouth. Note to self; no strange behaviour for at least two hours during interview process.
Also we're going to go on a walk. We went to Fountains Abbey last weekend and had a lovely Sunday walk. It was a little tough going because I was tired and my motivation was at -26 but it's good to get back into the habit. We're doing a 13 mile walk in April for cancer charities and so we need to get walking more anyway.
The big lady boss is in today so I better be away. I will be back.

Back by popular demand....
Well, it's been a long time!
I have been having a short break from blogging and just keeping a bit of an online diary. However, I am forever being asked to start doing it again (no idea why) and I have had complaints about people having to 'log in' - perhaps I should keep it private but we'll see how that goes.
I have absolutely heaps to say but I'm at work at the moment so I'll do a proper update when I'm next back at my home PC.
Tonight we are going to see Avatar at the IMAX in Bradford and I'm so frackin excited. Last time we watched a film there I ended up trying to bat a fly that flew past me. I have a phobia of them so seeing a film about them was probably a bad move in hindsight.
I wanted to just post a link to a video of my lush bro. He's so amazingly talented and I'm so proud of him. This is him just 'messing about' on the piano at christmas.
Oh and here's our daughter messing about at christmas. She obviously did a lot more exciting stuff just before I started rolling as she always does, she's not daft.
